Ten on Tuesday

1. It isn't FRIDAY yet??????
2. I did begin this yesterday, but my dull throbbing headache squashed my ideas
3.  Did you know EVERY TIME someone says Delicious, Jordyn replies DELIGHTFUL ( I love her)
4. Connor has decided he is terrified of anything even semi scary in Halloween sections of stores
He even screams if we get a flyer in the mail with spooky things in it.
5.  Have you ever been asked the question. "Can you fit 5 in a king sized bed comfortably?"  The answer is NO!
6.  Does anyone have any good smoothie recipes?  I need to start making them as my lunch.  But they have to be healthy
7.   I am in the process of teaching my kids to rub my back.  They think it's fun!  I learned that trick from my Aunt.  We used to brush her hair for hours.
8.  I love that my kids love to read. I love watching them "read" and act out the stories.
9.     Jordyn loves to cook with me.  It is so funny, she will come to me and say "cook"  and pull me into the kitchen
10. It's cold this morning.  I want to put on a chunky sweater and snuggle.  Some Hot tea, a good book (Llama Llama Red Pajama) and big fluffy blankets.  Gotta RUN!

quote of the day

Haha! This is my new favorite quote!

"A clean house is the sign of a wasted life. "

How do I convince my husband this is truth?

Grape Harvest

Today just reaffirmed that this is what I want to do when I grow up. I want to own a vineyard. Have you ever had a dream job? This has always been mine. When Tara and I pulled up today, the vineyard owner, Andy was walking to the winery holding his 3 year old son's hand while his 2 dogs barked and ran crazy around them. It is how I always pictured vineyard life. My children out in the vineyard eating grapes as we harvest. I am so happy that they allowed me to be part of their fall harvest. It was everything I thought it would be and more.

ticked

I'm just a bit ticked right now.  Maybe it's the cup of coffee I  drank at 7:30 this evening that really got me heated, but I have a deeper feeling that this happened to me while watching President Bush speak about "bailing out" these financial institutions.  Again...Not talking politics, BUT! Did I say BUT!  Ok, so 700 BILLION to bail out these companies.  I understand somewhat.  I understand that a small, tiny portion of it is being done so the people of this country don't go into a full blown panic pulling everything out of the stock market and such. But my question.  My big huge burning question is this.  If these institutions are being  given a  "get out of debt" card do their CEO's continue making millions of dollars a year?  Do they really get paid for stealing from hopeful families? I just want to know if there will be a cap put on how much money they get to make if they aren't doing their jobs correctly.  I mean if this were a comic book and the villain (lenders who completely screwed people) were to corrupt the financial and economic status of an ENTIRE country(the most powerful nation  in the world to be exact) so greatly causing wide spread panic and total chaos. The hero would then step in and squash that villain with a WHAM and a BLAM and make sure that this villain would never again be given the authority to hold the fate of a nation in their hands while continuing to    vacation with their families in St. Barts . *No, evil villain, you will vacation this year in the outer banks*  Only in a perfect comic book ending.

Save The Trees

Today, Connor, Jordyn and I went outside and attempted to clean up after the storm. There were so many tree limbs down, and the kids had worked so hard cleaning them up. I felt inspired to come inside and make my little workers a special lunch. So in honor of the trees that took a beating, I made tree shaped grilled cheese sandwiches. Connor's response to this was, "I can't eat trees." My little man is so beautifully literal!

The Best is Yet to Come (censored)

Last night we went to picwick and frolic with the Pamboukis's.  I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard. We saw a terrific Vegas Supper Club show, and it was just so great to sit there and listen to their sultry voices and imagine what it was like during the days of the rat pack.   I have no pictures and cannot really even speak much about the night.  I can say the mental images of Jordyn learning how to street fight and hitting a certain (CB) will keep the smiles and I'm sure the inside jokes coming  for years. The "classy" pregnant girls that we encountered made me remember that I needed to wash my hands, and oh so happy that I am who I am.  My husband was on a roll last night.  I honestly have not laughed so hard in a long time.  He was so funny all night long.  Oh honey, thank you for that.  And thank you Nick and Keri!
