It's Over

Well it is finally over. My husband bought me a car this evening. It is a 2007 Jeep Commander in Black (not represented in this picture). It is such a beautiful car and has more room than a car of course. I won't bore you with the details, but man do I love this car!!! If there is anyone out there who knows my husband and is shocked at this Jeep purchase, please reintroduce yourself to him. It must have been awhile since you last spoke. I know, I know I thought we were getting a car, but then all of the sudden this guy named Ted at Spitzer called and said he could help us with a buy instead of a lease. We got an amazing deal, and he was the best car salesman I have ever met. These people at Spitzer went so far above the call of duty for us it was amazing and I just want to thank them for ending this process for us on an up note! I am still in shock that I have a car again. It's been so long. I would be kidding myself to think that I will be driving this car tomorrow. Even though Patrick said he would leave it with me I know how bad that would hurt him and he has already given a reason why he should take it tomorrow. I love this Man!!!!!! So yahoo, I do have a "Mom" car now and I'll have it for many many many years to come. Thank you honey.

He loves to Rock!

Connor loves to rock in his rocking chair in his bedroom. He is so funny. He climbs into it, sits there, (usually with a toy or book in hand) and rocks himself while saying "rock" over and over. He also loves his Spider Man chair in the living room. He loves the fact that they are big boy chairs and they are all his. I'm posting a couple pics of him doing what he loves best. TO ROCK!

On the car front, I think we have decided against a "Mom" car and are choosing to go the economic route. Patrick and I looked at a Hyundai Sonata (small compact car) and the price is great, so I think that's what we are going to do. We're not sure how practical it will be with 2 kids and all that goes along with them, but at this time it seems like the best thing for us to do. Did I mention yet how much I HATE car shopping. I think I'd rather turn 30 twice!

Car Shopping and turning 30...Which stinks more?

We went car shopping on Saturday. We left the house at 9 and got home at 4. There is nothing more in the world that I dislike more than buying a car. They are the worst investment in the world and I could care less about the status of a car. I just want something that we will fit in as a family, that has good safety features and that will not blow up on me! Is that too much to ask? I test drove the Hyundai Santa Fe yesterday and I think we like that one. Great warranty and price isn't bad, but then we asked ourselves. Do we want to lease or buy a used car. Ugh! I don't know. I am so confused and stressed out. I test drove the Pacifica and not sure know how much I like that car. I have loved it for so long and now that the pressure is on to get a car I want to make sure we make the right decision. When we left the Hyundai dealer, Patrick said let's just get a car and be done with it. We'll lease it for 27 months and then get something bigger. It's a very nice car and the lease option right now is incredible! Any suggestions or ideas?
Now onto me turning 30...Enough of the snickering Marie! I have just 10 more days in my 20's. Everyone keeps asking what I want to do. I am huge, pregnant, not really in the mood to party, but would love a night get away with my Patrick. I also want lobster and crab. I have been wanting that for months now. Does anyone have any ideas on what a good 30th birthday can be for a big ole' pregnant lady? I know what I would do if I weren't pregnant, but that does not apply. Also, where can we get a great lobster? I need help!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day to you! We had a great day. Connor and I decided to turn the Jebber household into a fancy restaurant for Patrick when he got home from work. Connor allowed me to make dinner which was spinach lasagna with meat sauce, garlic rolls with a tossed salad, and for desert I made a key lime pie. Connor was so great the whole time and let me cook all morning long without getting crabby. He played with my cook books and spice jars. Then we made a sign for the back door to let Patrick know he was walking into a very, "shie shie" establishment. We called it Chez Jebber. Connor played the part of the Maître de, and handed Patrick his menu when he walked in the door. The three of us had a very romantic dinner by candelight and enjoyed our time together. When looking at the pics I post, please notice the lumps on my baby's head. He smashed his face twice and is completely bruised up. I told Patrick I'm not taking him outside because people will think I beat him. Does lack of milk cause clumsiness?
Now on day three of bottle weening, Connor has done splendid during the days, but last night was a nightmare. He screamed for almost 1 hour at bedtime before he passed out on my chest. He refuses to drink milk from a sippy cup. He will drink water and juice, but very little milk. I have no idea what to do. Normally when he wakes up in the morning his diaper is completely full, but this morning there was nothing in it. I'm afraid he is going to get dehydrated. This kid has such a strong will.

Holy Snowstorm

Well day 1 of bottle weening went very well. Night 1 is a totally different story. Connor woke up at about 1 and didn't go back to bed most of the night. He screamed for the most part of the night and Patrick and I were doing all that we could to comfort him and get him back to sleep. Fun times! Today (day 2) went very well, we just kept busy, but this evening was a repeat of last night, so I am hoping that he will sleep all night tonight. He also won't nap right now, so I am hoping that won't last long either.
Aside from the bottle weening, we were slammed with a major snow storm today. It just never stopped falling. Many businesses closed (including Patrick's) and people got to come home early. When Patrick got home, he shoveled the snow and then we took Connor out and played. It was his first time really getting into it. We took him sledding up and down the street and he just loved it! He was so bundled up it was adorable. He could barely move. I hope you all stayed warm today. Here are a couple pictures of us in the snow.

Don't cry over bottled milk

Today is day 1 of Connor's bottle weening, and I have to say it turned out much better than I thought it would. Last night I cried so hard because I knew this would be the last time he would snuggle in my arms and hold my hand while I fed him his bottle. I think it may have been harder on me than on him. I just can't believe he is growing up so fast. But I did snuggle him and hold him and play with his hair and enjoy ever last minute of that last bottle. Today we woke up and I gave him some milk and cheerios and he did great. We spent most of the day reading, playing and just trying to keep his mind off of having a bottle. He really has never been addicted to it which I hear is a good thing. I am hoping the rest of the week goes as smooth. If anyone knows how to make this process easier please let me know. His Dr. recommended the "cold turkey" style just to get it over with so that is what I am doing.
Tonight my little love got his first FAT lip. Just looking at the pictures hurts me all over again. He was running through the house and fell flat on his lips onto the kitchen floor. He got a huge, fat, bloody lip and boy does my heart ache every time I look at his little Angelina Jolie looking mug. Oh I know this isn't the last one, but how on Earth do you handle these bumps and bruises without aching?
Last note, Patrick and I are looking for a second car finally. We test drove the new Mazda CX-7 tonight. I would rather have the CX-9, but that is way out of our price range. It is a beautiful and very safe vehicle. We are going on Thursday to drive the Chrysler Pacifica and the Jeep Compass. We are looking for something that is good on gas mileage and not sooo big, but a little roomier than a car. Patrick refuses to look at minivans, in fact I think he'd rather die than ever be a minivan owner. He is just so proud! I'll let you know which we choose.

Guardian Furniture Protection is a Scam!

This is a warning to any of you who are planning on buying furniture any time in the future. Right before Patrick and I got married we bought all new living room furniture from Levin. We felt it was a reputable company and that they would sell us furniture that was able to take a few beatings since we have dogs and were planning on children. When we bought the furniture, they sold us the 7 year warranty program as well. They told us that it was a great warranty and would cover any rips or tears that were accidental. Also, and spills, blood, whatever. We thought great! Well, this warranty was through Guardian Products www.guardianproducts.net
OK, this company is a complete scam. Everything about them is a scam. We found 2 different rips in our couch recently, and for as much as we spent I was sick to my stomach about it, but remembered that we paid for this warranty. I called Guardian and explained the rips and the man told me that it would be covered. They sent people out to take pictures and then we got a letter, not a call from this lady Jacki Harris saying that it was a manufacture defect and they would not cover it. I called this woman, and sent her an email. She is one of those cowardly people that won't return calls, but will only deal with you through emails. I know this because I practically begged her to call me or have at least someone call me, and she refused. Her last email said she would not continue with my claim and that was that. We called Levin and they were so very quick to back up this company, but sent out a man to see what he could do. This guy assured me that it was not the manufacturer and that they were in fact accidental rips and that Guardian should most definitely cover this, but alas, they are complete scam artists and I have no idea how they are not being sued out of business. We looked online and found thousands of people who were taken by this company and were told that everything that was wrong with their furniture was because the manufacturer sewed the seams too tight or something to that nature. This Jacqueline Harris is paid to scam people as well. A seam too tight. Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous! Anyhow, if you are buying furniture and the store does business with this company turn down the offer or run the other direction to a store that prides itself on dealing with respectable warranty company's. I had to get this off my chest and warn you, so I am also giving you a picture of Connor to make me smile. If you know of anyone who has had this same issue with this company please let me know. Patrick and I are planning on taking action against them.

My Uncle Colin

To those of you who don't know, my Uncle Colin had a massive heart attack this week and his condition was very critical. I want to thank you for all of your prayers this week and ask that you keep praying for his recovery. We were so scared to almost have lost him. For those of you who don't know my Uncle Colin, he is one of the funniest men I know. He has a great sense of humor and is a very caring guy. I am so happy to say that he is off the breathing machines and is able to talk now and of course is cracking jokes and I am sure keeping those nurses on their toes. Please do keep him in your prayers. Thanks All!

The Meaning of Jebber...

I know this sounds crazy.... but there is an actual dictionary definition for the name JEBBER. Yep, it's official. The Jebber name has become synonymous with all that is cool. To use it in a sentence - "THAT'S SO JEBBER!"

Right from the "Urban Dictionary" - It means really hot, cool, hella-good, something positive...you get the point. It is also used to define your best, flyest buddies.

So the next time you call someone up. It may not be our family...but if they're cool - you can call em all "Jebbers!"

Peace out!

Her name

So I had to post this terrible picture of me because my awesome Aunt got this shirt for me and Jordyn. Isn't it adorable!! It reads, " Hello My name is going to be Jordyn" As soon as I got it last night I put it on and had Patrick take a picture. Thanks Aunt Rose Marie, you are the best.
