Happy New Year Everyone!
For me, New Year's Day has always been about traditions. My family is from the South, so I always make a pot of black eyed peas and some corn bread to make sure we make money in the coming year. I know it's corny, but I have been doing it my whole life. My Gran did it, my Mom taught me, and now I'm doing it. And really, who knows how far this goes back. As sick as I was today I made sure I got up and made it, knowing my husband could care less about my silly southern traditions. But because he loves me so much, he ate them! He ate them and I think they are growing on him. Every year h

Another tradition is watching the tournament of roses parade. Growing up in California, this was always a big deal in our family, so I laid in bed and watched it while my hubby worked.
And one more silly Cassie tradition is the all day Twilight Zone marathon. I try to catch at least a couple episodes. I don't know why, but it reminds me of what I used to do as a kid with my Dad. It's fun, and plus everything is closed today so a day filled with TV isn't all that bad. I sure hope you all have a great 2007!
First - I've never had black eyed peas. Please make some and overnight them to me for a tasting. :)
Second - we TOTALLY watched Twilight Zone last night. Or, we tried. It was a crowded party. I had no idea it was a regular New Year's thing.
Love you. Happy New Year!
