Loving the babies

Wow, what a week. Connor got himself 2 new cousins back to back. Very Exciting! Alexander was born on Tuesday afternoon and William was born on Wednesday morning. Both of them are so very precious I cannot take it. I'll get pictures up when I can.
Did I tell any of you about our weekend last week? Please tell me if we did the right thing! First of all my cleaning party on Saturday made me feel much better and I have to thank Marsha and Jimbo for being the two most totally awesome people in the world because I could not have done it without you! My house was clean for a whole couple of hours. That is until Connor got home! In the midst of cleaning a puppy found my husband outside. She was a chocolate lab pup who Patrick though was all of 6-9 months old. Patrick walked her up and down the street looking for her home and no one knew her. It was freezing raining and snowing so we brought her home. We didn't bring her in, but we had a crate in the garage and we layered it with blankets and she went right in. So she is crate trained, what a plus. We searched for hours in our neighborhood in the car looking and listening for someone who was calling out for a puppy. No one! We called the shelters, the pound, police and dog warden and no one called in missing a puppy. We made signs and put them up all over the neighborhood inside and out and no one called for her. I cannot tell you how made this made us as responsible dog owners, and dog finders. Shoot, when Bailey and Max ever got loose I called the police, animals hospitals, had signs made up and was pounding the pavement within minutes! But Patrick and I just couldn't let her run loose all night long in the cold and God forbid she got hit by a car. We both kept wondering if we let her go if she would just go home. We couldn't keep her, not 1 week after Bailey leaving and 2 weeks before Jordyn gets here. We called the Humane Society and 2 other no kill shelters and no one would take her because they were full. We had to call the dog warden. She was so sweet and scared to leave. Did we do a bad thing? It has been weighing so heavily on my mind this whole week??

i know it was hard, but you did the right thing. this transition will be very hard at first and you don't need something else in the mix. you are being the mom. and that is ok.

I think you did the right thing because with a beautiful, young, and entergetic dog like that at the least someone will adopt it. You have way to many other things to worry about and to take care of.
