It's a blog not a blah!

"It's a blog, not a blah" Those words came out of my husband's mouth tonight about my blog. I need some feedback. Patrick thinks my blogging is unpleasing to the eye. He says that it drives him nuts to see my placement of pictures within the text and where I place the text. Now seriously, is there anyone out there who has made the same observations? I will not be upset, I will only try to get better, but I need to know how many of you feel that my blog is more blah than blog. Is there blogging etiquette? Are there people snickering? Does anyone even read this thing? Now I'm paranoid.

He is our Champion!

Well, Friday was Connor's awards ceremony for his gymnastics class. He has been in this class for 6 months and has just blossomed. It was a wonderful night. We were just so proud of him. His Grandpa Stu, Grandma Jenny and Grandma Marsha were all there to cheer him on when he got his award. They all got to see him in action in the gym too. He ran around and played with all of the equipment and danced his little heart out when Miss Mandy played the music. We all got such a kick out of it. When he got his award, we all cheered really loud and he stood there so proud of himself with a huge smile and held his award up. Grandpa Stu took us out for Connor's favorite, Spaghetti, after and he sure made a mess. What a great night. Thank you all for joining in on the fun! You're awesome.

Fun with Tumbles

Today was Connor's last day of baby gymnastics. My goodness does he love that class. Since I spend all of my days with him, this activity was solely Daddy and Connor personal time. I love the fact that they get those alone moments every week. I went today so I could get pictures and some video. He has been going for 6 months now and it is amazing how much he has learned. When he got there, he ran right for the balance beam and uneven bars and grabbed right on. It's a great 1/2 hour where he can just run and burn energy, but if you think for one minute he will sit and participate you've got another thing coming. They start the class off with everyone in a circle singing songs, but Connor was like the pied piper and was trying to get all the kids over to the slide and off of those stinking mats. We've decided to not sign him up for the next class, but to begin swim lessons just in time for Grandpa's pool this summer. Next week is his award ceremony so I assure you we will have pictures. Oh yeah, and honey have I told you today what a terrific Father you are?

My Son the Texan

We had such a great weekend, and this week seemed to drag on, but it is now Saturday yet again and I can sit and look back at how much fun we had while Patrick's Mom and sister Michelle were in town. It was so nice to have them here, and we always go into a bit of a family depression when they leave. Connor cannot get enough of Grandma, he just follows her around like a little duckling. He had fun picking up an accent while they were here too. It is so strange, for months now he has been saying bye bye, but on Monday he began speaking with a southern accent. When Patrick's Mom was leaving he looked at them and said "bah" and waved. He sounds like a little Texan. Now he proudly says "bah" every time someone is leaving. No idea why, but I think it's a little funny. On Monday, Patrick took the day off to spend with the family and we went to Legacy Village so he could go to the Apple store, we were bummed they didn't have any new cell phones out on display. We had dinner at the Cheesecake factory. The service was terrible, but the food was ok and the cheesecake was divine. We are getting ready for some big changes in our house. Nate, the painter was here last night to talk about Jordyn's room and wow are we excited to get that done!! I have a meeting with our kitchen people on Wednesday to make the final arrangements before they begin demolition on our kitchen. Just an FYI I will be without any kitchen and laundry for over a month. UGH! Well, off to eat again. "Bah"

Did Someone Say...GIRL!!!

Oh my! What is a daddy to do? I've got to get all the daddy things in order.

Number One: Make sure we confine her in our house where no boy will ever get to her.

Number Two: Oh yeah, we definitely need to confine her in our house so no boy will ever get to her.

Number Three: Last but not least, make sure Connor knows to beat up any boy that ever looks at his little sister the wrong way.
Can you tell that I'm excited! Maybe a nervous wreck is more like it. What the heck do you do with a little girl?

Anyways...here's some photos of the ultrasound.
The second one down is Jordyn looking right at you. I put in the third photo down to show what she might look like. Her mother of course.

Yep that's Cassie when she was a little girl, minus the fetus body. Cute as a button.

Love you all!

Enjoy!

IT'S A.......

GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Patrick and I went in for our ultrasound at 8 am today and we are having a healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are so happy that she is perfectly healthy and all of her bones and organs are just wonderful. Oh how surreal it was. Patrick was sitting next to me holding my hand and she was looking right at us in the monitor. Uh, hello we were bawling! Even though we went through this not too long ago, it is still just so amazing that we made this little girl. She is measuring normal and will still be due the week of May 7 I think.
When we got home, we told Connor all about it and he promised to love her and protect her forever. Our next step is planning a little girl's nursery, and actually getting some clothes that don't have blue hammers all over them. How Exciting! I'll post a picture of her as soon as Patrick scans it in. Gotta go hug my little man for a bit. Bye

SURPRISE!!!!!

On Saturday I threw Patrick a surprise party for his BIG 30! He says he didn't have any idea, but I know better. He had to know something was up, but it was a great night regardless. We went to Delanie's in Tallmadge and it was such a great little place. We will definitely be back. It was such a wonderful evening with all of our family and friends. Patrick's favorite surprise was that his Mom and sister Michelle flew in for the big night. We really missed you Christine! I just want to thank all of you for helping me pull this off, and a huge thanks to my Dad for all of his help with all of the planning and running around. I also want to thank my wonderful husband for turning 30 before me. :) Thank you honey for being the most wonderful man I know, the most amazing husband and the greatest father. I am so proud to be your wife. Happy birthday!

HELP

Where do I begin. I'm telling you, today was much more of a Monday than it was a Friday. Last night I experienced my first night of Pregnancy Insomnia. Oh I remember when I was pregnant with Connor I would be up in the middle of the night so much just watching TV, searching the internet or lying in bed next to Patrick wondering why he was sleeping so peacefully while I was so restless. Around 10 last night, Patrick, Bailey, Max and I fell fast asleep, and at 3:27 I was up! I was up thinking about anything and everything a person could think of. Last night was rough for me because I knew that at 6 am our alarm was going to go off and when Connor woke up I would be up too, but I had no idea what Connor had in store for me today. It began like any other day. Milk, breakfast, Sesame Street, a good amount of toy time, then off to nap land for Connor. When all of the sudden there rose such a clatter! I heard a terribly loud noise that made the dogs jump up too. As I was running downstairs I hear Connor screaming and what...What else was he doing? He was KNOCKING ON HIS BEDROOM DOOR! He jumped out of his bed. My 14 month old son jumped out of his crib. I'm not ready for this. He is way to young to be in a bed. I called Patrick and as soon as he got home from work we went and got a crib cage. Yes, that's right my son is now caged. Please if any of you have any advice for me regarding the extreme baby sports I would love it. If any of you have used the tents please let me know what you think of them. Thanks in advance!

Last Year

I just wanted to post this picture from last year on January 11. Patrick's 29th birthday in Florida. Wow how time flies.

Happy 30th Birthday My Baby

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Patrick! Happy Birthday to you! Wow, I'm married to a 30 year old. :) hehehe! I know, I'll be there very very soon, but wow is it crazy to think he is no longer in his 20's. Today is Patrick's 30th birthday and yes, he had to work today. UGH> Being an adult! We had a wonderful dinner at the Rocky River Grillhouse and just enjoyed a much needed couple hours out to sit and listen to each other without Connor throwing food at other diners. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Dad, Jenny and Melinda for making this night possible. We really appreciate it! Of course our night ended with Patrick opening his light saber and playing with Connor until I was whipped in the head. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye! :) Honey I hope you had a wonderful 30th birthday. I wish I could have done so much more. You deserve only the best my baby.

Thank Heaven For My Dad

All is well, with us Jebbers, I am getting over my cold with a lingering cough, but other than that we are all great.

I wanted to make a quick post and send a shout out to my Dad. He is honestly the greatest man/Dad alive aside from my husband. He is the most dedicated Dad and Grandfather in the whole world and I just cannot thank him enough for all that he does for Patrick, Connor and I. Since Connor was born we cannot keep him away. He comes by almost every day to give Connor a kiss and hug and a few minutes of playtime with PaPa while I get some things done around the house. If it weren't for him and his love for this little boy my house would be, well it would just be awful. Connor is absolutely addicted to him. I feel at times that if I just went away he'd be fine as long as PaPa were with him. I love that they love each other so much and that my Dad is making these wonderful memories with Connor for him to remember his whole life.
I know in a million years my Dad would never log onto this blog to read this post, but if any of you out there see him, just let him know what a great guy he is.

Resolutions

I have always been a sucker for resolutions. I have always set myself up for failure as far as these so called resolutions are concerned. I have never really even made a resolution that is too out of the realm of reality to not keep it either. Usually it is something as silly as making my bed every day or making sure I don't fall asleep before I wash my face, but alas, it never works for me. This year I am again going to challenge myself and try to keep this resolution for the rest of my life. The other day, Patrick was talking to a woman at work about how fast kids grow up. She has a 17 year old, and she said she couldn't remember the last time she actually held him. There was a day you know that was the last day she held that boy in her arms, but she just couldn't remember it. How true is that. I write down all of Connor's Firsts. First word, step, tooth, but none of the lasts. When was the last day he crawled? I cannot remember the last time I nursed him. Did I realize that day that there would be no other times like that with my little boy? I don't know because I can't remember. I want to remember these lasts so that I can savor the moment and not take advantage of one second I have with this little guy. I told my Dad this morning as I was squeezing Connor that I hope when he's 17 he still let's me pick him up and squeeze him till he grunts, but I know he'll tire of that one day, so I need to remember the "lasts" as he grows up and becomes more independent. I'll let you know if I am able to keep this year's resolution.

Lost & Found

Hey Everyone,

It might be apparent at this point that Cassie has become crazy addicted to the blog. I'm really excited that she's taken an interest in posting new stuff for everyone to read. She's definitely the wife of a web designer, shonuff!

Anyways, it was just this morning that my cousin Neil mentioned coming across this rare artifact from our younger days. Yep...it's been ten years this October that Cassie and I went on our first date. I remember it like it was yesterday. It's probably because she was telling the story yesterday...but that's not the point. THE POINT IS... I remember loving this woman next to me in these photos as much as I do now. My best friend and my love for all time. Thank you God!

2007

Happy New Year Everyone!
For me, New Year's Day has always been about traditions. My family is from the South, so I always make a pot of black eyed peas and some corn bread to make sure we make money in the coming year. I know it's corny, but I have been doing it my whole life. My Gran did it, my Mom taught me, and now I'm doing it. And really, who knows how far this goes back. As sick as I was today I made sure I got up and made it, knowing my husband could care less about my silly southern traditions. But because he loves me so much, he ate them! He ate them and I think they are growing on him. Every year he puts a bit more in his bowl. What makes me even more happy is that Connor loved them. He was begging for more. I love this kid and his hearty appetite.
Another tradition is watching the tournament of roses parade. Growing up in California, this was always a big deal in our family, so I laid in bed and watched it while my hubby worked.
And one more silly Cassie tradition is the all day Twilight Zone marathon. I try to catch at least a couple episodes. I don't know why, but it reminds me of what I used to do as a kid with my Dad. It's fun, and plus everything is closed today so a day filled with TV isn't all that bad. I sure hope you all have a great 2007!

New Year's Eve 2006

Wow I cannot believe that 2006 is almost over. This year has flown by so fast my head is spinning. This is actually the 1st New Year's Eve in almost 10 years that Patrick and I haven't gone out on the town and played like we're "rock stars" . Being pregnant doesn't allow for much of that and neither does being sick! Yep, my hubby got me sick. He's lucky I love him so much. Being sick and pregnant is such a bummer. This never happened when I was pregnant with Connor. Is there anything I can do to make life a bit more tolerant??
Anyhow, I have to admit, this New Year's Eve was one of the best to date for me. We went to Hibachi Japan for dinner with Mike, Jen and the Kelly family. (Connor loves that place so much, probably because I ate so much of it when I was pregnant with him. ) We had a blast. Great company and great food. We came home and played with Connor's new toys for quite awhile, then we put on our party hats, pulled out our horn blowers and counted down to 2007 at about 8:15. It was quite exciting. (not that you can tell by the photo of Connor screaming at us) Connor loved it because the dogs were hooting and hollering too. I love watching him get excited about things. After we put Connor to sleep, Patrick and I snuggled on the couch for a movie marathon. It was so much fun. We realized that in 2007 we will have been together 10 years and I swear I fall deeper in love with him every day. Almost like he put a spell on me...honey???

Well after our movies, we watched the ball drop (I made it to midnight. Who's proud of me?) and I am absolutely sure Patrick was asleep by 12:08. Happy New Year Everyone!

Is this Ohio?

I have been a bad blogger, but I am catching up on my posts right now.
So I have to say how happy I am with the weather in Ohio lately. I know we didn't get the white Christmas, but wow has it been wonderful.

We have been able to take Connor out in his beloved wagon every day. How fun is that! Patrick has been getting over his cold this week, and we're getting ready for our rockin' New Year's Eve plans!!! This week Connor and I met Patrick at work for lunch a couple times because we missed him so much. I had to add this little story to the blog, because Patrick and I laughed so hard. We went and got lunch on Wednesday and with my sandwich they gave me a pickle spear. I handed it to Connor to see what he thought of pickles and he took the pickle held it to his ear like a phone and said, "hello" in his little hello voice. Oh did we laugh, then he continued to talk into the pickle for a bit longer while we sat there in amazement at how wonderful this little man is. I love laughing, and boy do we do a lot of it.
