A Star is born

I just had to share this with you!
Have you ever been so in love that is consumes every inch of your soul? It affects the way you live your life? It changes you forever? I have!
This is my little sweet love Jordyn on the potty serenading her Daddy with "Toe Knee Chest Nut"
"Toe Knee Chest Nut Knows I love you. That's what Toe Knee Knows." She sings this at the end of her gym class. Did I mention she is ON THE POTTY! She is doing WONDERFUL!

Weekend Get-Away

This weekend we took the family on a little getaway with our Pamboukis's! We went to the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania. It was such a lovely break. The kids got to play together, (slam doors, run around, yell, cry) the adults got to sit and visit, (eat, drink wine, kiss boo boos, watch housekeeping clean the condo) and just RELAX! The kids really loved running around the resort and exercising, playing arcade games and being kids. Here is a little photo slide show of our extremely short family weekend away!

Jordyn posing by an "old car" piece of art work in the Chateau
Connor riding a pink elephant in front of the extremely over priced toy store
Reese chatting it up with one of the many sculptures at the hotel
Snuggling with my pumpkin love
The most beautiful lions I have ever met! They were so in love. They were napping and completely wrapped around each other.
Patrick couldn't help but snap a picture of their...Well you know. I couldn't help but blog about it!

How Can I Help?

(I know I have posted this picture before, but it makes me smile, and right now I need to smile)
Over the past 2 weeks, I have heard this question a couple thousand times. "What can I do?", "Anything you need?", it doesn't always pan out with every person, but it is amazing how gracious so many have been. People I have never met, calling me on the phone and telling me how they are scouring area businesses looking for donations, people I have known for years just picking up their phones to make a simple phone call and getting all of our paper products donated (YAHOO), without me ever having to ask. My heart is forever changed. My life will never be the same as it was 2 and a half weeks ago.
Amber's health has taken a turn for the worse. This family (The Dugan's) needs your prayers and your help more than ever. To any of my blog readers out there who may have a connection or a special skill/craft. We are looking for Theme basket donations for our raffle the night of the auction. Ideas: Ohio State, Pet themed, family movie night, family game night, napa basket. These are just a few I have heard other people have seen.
We are still desperately looking for the donation of our food (pasta, sauce, salad, rolls, punch) Like I said, if anyone has a contact or knows someone who works in a restaurant or grocery store/food supply company. Donations from golf courses, airline tickets, CAVS tickets, hotel stays, hair salon certificates, pizza places, fast food, restaurants . ANYTHING!!! Do you have a church? Could you inform the parish of Amber and her courage? Could you inform them that they can donate to the family online if they are out of state or come and share in our night if they around here? I have flyers and I am trying to pass them out in churches, area stores, banks, anywhere where a person will see it and read it and learn about Amber and her beautiful spirit, her courage and her love for life.
I understand, not everyone can help, our lives are busy, but if in your heart you were thinking, "I wish I could do something," And you have 5 minutes to spare, hand a flyer to the manager at your local grocery store, hand a flyer to your pastor, sit down and say a prayer. Your help WILL change lives.

Ambers Magical Memories Fundraiser Update

I have had so many people ask about donating online.  Patrick has now made it possible to donate online at www.ambersmagicalmemories.org

Pray for an Angel

Bloggers and Blog Readers, please say a prayer for Amber this evening!  Her family has been given devastating news.  The doctors fear that the Ewing's Cancer has spread throughout her little body.  If this is in fact the case they have informed the family that their time with her will be much shorter.  Please pray for a miracle this evening that tomorrow when the doctors do her CT scan they find this to not be the truth. Please pray for this remarkable family. They are amazing, honestly some of the greatest people I have ever met in my life!  My heart loves more just for knowing them!  Thank you for your prayers for this beautiful little angel! When you finish your prayer please kiss your beautiful babies.  Thank God for each and every blessed second you have to spend with them.

Conversations among Siblings

Today, I was in the kitchen listening to a conversation going on in the hall way between Connor and Jordyn. I wish my eyes had a camcorder because what was said wasn't near as adorable as what they were doing:
Background: Connor has just woke from his nap when I offered him juice. He wanted something different than what I was offering so he flipped out! I sent him to his room without juice. He then threw himself on the floor in the hallway.
Jordyn: Connor don't cry baby. I here. (wrapping her body around him and rubbing his back as he is crying) You ok?
Connor: Yeah, I'm ok.
Jordyn: Juice? I go get it?
Connor: Sure. (Jordyn gets up to get his juice, turns around to kiss him first before she ventures into the kitchen) Jordyn. I love you so much
Jordyn: I wuh you!
Haven't said it on here in awhile, but I am madly in love with them. They make my heart smile so big my heart's cheeks hurt!

Many of you have heard of Amber and have been praying for her for years! Thank you for that!
She recently told her Mother that she would like to take one last family trip with her family all together. Amber is in chemo again and I do not have much time to put this dinner together.
It is my intention, which is shared by their many friends and family to make her last wish come true, but we need your help.
I was hoping that you could be part of this night by attending our dinner and taking part in our auctions that evening. We are still looking for baskets to be donated for our auction. If you are able to donate, Please let me know! Also, if you are unable to attend or live out of town and would still like to make a donation, please let me know. For every donation made by out of towners I will be happy to send a care package of cookies straight to your home as a thank you! PS: Please pass this info on to anyone who you think may be interested in attending!

I thank you in advance for your help.

Here is a bit of background information about Amber and her condition written by her Mother Melissa Dugan.

Amber Dugan was diagnosed with Stage IV Ewings Sarcoma in Aug 2004 when she was 9. It was found in her rib and had spread to her bone marrow. She completed many rounds of chemotherapy and had high dose chemotherapy, total body irradiation (TBI) and 2 bone marrow transplants in Feb and Apr 2005. In January 2007, she relapsed. It was found in her bone marrow, on her skull, femur and spine. She received localized radiation to her skull and received one year of chemotherapy. She completed that in Dec. 2007. She went on maintenance chemo and had a second relapse in April 2008. It was again found in her bone marrow and on her skull. She then was treated in Bethesda MD at NIH. She was in a clinical trial for the drug R1507 and was on that for about 6 months and then the cancer started growing again. It had spread to many parts of her body. In October 2008 she had 20 radiation treatments to her left clavical. The chances for a cure were exhausted by the doctors and she was put on pain management chemo. That had stopped progression of the disease for a few months. On Feb. 5 2009 we had results come back that it had again started growing. The doctors decided that she would receive radiation to her right femur near her hip and left distal femur. However, was put in a wheelchair and allowed limited movement with crutches due to the likelihood of it breaking from the tumor. Chemo was changed but stressed that this is the last chemo option she will have. The doctors may have exhausted all of the options for her but her father and I will never give up and are searching for other options. You can check out her website that is her words about treatment and what is going on in her life. Go to www.livingeachday.piczo.com Amber has always worn her heart on her sleeve for it is too large to be contained in that small little body. So many times I remember packing for our hospital stays and Amber was so concerned with packing not anything to entertain herself for the week but to pack toys and stuffed animals to pass out to the other children there. I wanted to say but Amber you are one of these children suffering.. what about you and what you want..... but that has never been Amber in any of this. Afterall, I see all the joy she has brought to my life so it is only natural for her to bring that to all those she meets.
I thank you so much for taking the time to learn about my little angel Amber. I ask you to please keep her in your prayers. I know the doctors have not given us any hope but I have faith and I believe in miracles and she is one who truly deserves one. So for now we are praying and searching for options. We will never give up or lose hope. For I know she is my angel but I am not ready to let her fly.

Another Year Another Ache Another Pain

I woke up this morning with Connor snuggled in right next to me. His curls smashed right up against my cheek. I love waking up like that. I could smell coffee brewing and "good things to eat" coming from the kitchen so I told Connor that we should go investigate. When we got into the kitchen, Jordyn was helping Daddy make his FAMOUS buttery, sugar crusted french toast! My all-time favorite. We enjoyed breakfast, I enjoyed laying on the couch and Daddy cleaned the house up and did the dishes ALL DAY LONG!
I have been spoiled all week. Thank you my honey. Patrick has been surprising me with Spring beauties all week, and the theme continued with my birthday. He got me the umbrella I have been wanting for our back yard patio. I cannot wait to set that baby up and drink some sangria underneath it!
My actual real gift from Patrick is a night in Baltimore with Charissa and The New Kids On The Block! What husband does that? MINE! Because he loves me and he wants me to be happy. And did I mention he loves me??!
Tonight we took the kids to Hibachi Japan. We had a "Family Date", and Connor decided the color of our date shall be Orange. So, for the record, the night was ORANGE! Whatever that means.
The last time we were at Hibachi as a family, Jordyn was in my tummy!
The night was so memorable. The kids were on their absolute best behavior. It was so fun for me to experience them, experiencing this for the first time.
It was a great birthday, and it ended the same way it began. I snuggled Connor in his bed and felt his Hibachi smelling curls tickle my cheek before I kissed him goodnight.
Now, as I am typing this, my beautiful husband is snuggled on the couch next to me, asleep in my arms.  Makes it pretty hard to type, but I can't stand the thought of moving him.
It was the best birthday ever! I spent it with my wonderful family. Thank you guys so much for being you and loving me the way you do.  With all of my Heart, Soul, Strength and Mind I love you.
