Bible School Bust

The other night I attempted to take Connor to Vacation Bible School at a church near our home.  Here is my photographic journey through the entire ordeal:

Nearing the end of our time there, Connor looked up at me and said "Mom, I want to go on a date." I said you do, what would you like to do?  He said, "let's put the pillows on the floor, and watch a movie with Jordyn and Dad...And get ice cream." He got his date. Hey, at least I tried!

10 on Tuesday

1. Is it really only Tuesday???? How does this happen?
2. I got roses for no other reason than he loves me!
3. I am preparing my body for a detox.  If you think I'm cranky you may be right.
4. Vintage Ohio Here We COME! Biggest Wine event in Ohio.  Can you hear me giggle?
5. Jordyn loves to sing and dance now.  She is such a girl. She also loves to ride her cow.
6. I love summer with my kids. They are so much fun.
7.  Did I mention I'm drinking wine this weekend
8. Did I also mention that during my detox I cannot have wine, caffeine, salt, sugar, animal products? Patrick is scared to death.
9. Happy Anniversary BJ and Marie
10.  Bailey has a home again.  With us!  Say a prayer that it continues to work out!!

Art Class

And the conversation went like this.
Me: Just finishing vacuuming. “Connor? Are you two being good?”
Connor: Yes, I’m coloring on Jordyn
Me: I sure hope you’re not coloring on Jordyn
Connor: Yes, I am.
Me: Walking into room. Oh Connor, no.....
Connor: She likes this color
Me: Stay here so I can get the camera. ( The Marie Taylor school of parenting) :)
Connor: OK

Best Thursday Ever

All together the kids weighed 200 pounds
Jordyn loved the train. She said Choo Choo the whole time
He was so close to us
I call this Boo Hoo at the Zoo(she actually had a great time)
Connor and Ethan are chilly Willy's

What a great day. Today I took the kids to the zoo with their friends the Paratore's and Kersher's. They had so much fun. Connor was a riot. He would take about 5 seconds with each boring animal(or at least the ones he felt were boring) and say, ok Mom, next one. Jordyn called the Jaguar a kitty and meowed at it, then she called the jelly fish doggies. It was so much fun! And to top of our great day, we ended it with a movie at the Falls Pavilion. What a wonderful summertime memory. We are so lucky to live in a community that does such fun things, The kids all played with a ton of other kids, got balloon animals, ate popcorn and watched Bee Movie. If really was so great. I look forward to every Thursday now. Thanks ladies for such a great day!

Keep on Trucking

On Friday I took Connor and Jordyn to touch a truck day. They had such a blast in the 978 degree weather. Seriously, it was very cool for the kids. They got to touch all kinds of trucks, climb into them, sit in the seats, honk the horns and pretend to drive. Connor and Jordyn both loved the school bus and the snow plow. It is so much fun to see their faces. When we got there, Connor said, "look Mom, we're gonna touch a car!" When we left, he said, Thanks Mom, I had fun in the big trucks. They were humongous!" And the world was right. Ahhh I love being his Mom.

Adventures in Babysitting

Tonight Patrick and I got to babysit my Godson Alexander, and the kids cousins Reese and Zachary. For weeks everyone was wondering how I was going to handle 5 kids all night long. I have actually been looking so forward to it. I was going to get to snuggle with my Alexander all night long, but our time was cut way too short. Reese came down with a crazy fever and wanted his Mommy. I did manage to get a few pictures before they left me.

When all else fails

I have recently heard of a family who is going through a very hard time.  They are preparing to loose their Daddy/Husband to cancer.  His name is Dennis Stone. He is 27 with 3 little kids and a beautiful, loving wife.  My heart aches every time I read her words.
As I sit here, I try and vow to myself to be a better person.  A person who will not take for granted the life God has given me.  Nothing in my life has ever been so hard, and I will never pretend that it has been.  Please say a prayer for this family, and always remember, when all else fails we will always have faith.  When all else fails we will always have each other.  Nothing else matters.

What a weekend

Wow!  We had such a great weekend!  It was so jammed packed with lots of fun activities.  Thursday we went to the drive in, Friday we had a BBQ and watched fireworks with family, Saturday we (when I say we I really mean Patrick) Landscaped our front yard!  WOO HOO! Then we took the kids to a bonfire to play and catch fireflies.  Connor and Jordyn loved that.  And today, we took the kids to Westlake to play with our new friend Jack.  It was just such a great weekend filled with family, friends and fun.  I am so sad for it to be over...But I am looking forward to snuggling with my pillow, oh yeah and my hubby. Nighty Night!!

What A Blast

Happy 4th of July!
Many of you may not know this about me, but the 4th of July ranks right up there with Christmas as far as one of my favorite holidays, and this year has just quadrupled that feeling.  Watching my babies as they saw fireworks for the very first time was magical!
Connor kept squealing and his squeals then turned to a few "oh my goodnesses", then those turned to two beautifully huge brown eyes staring at what must have been one of the most amazing sights he has ever seen.  The whole way home he must have said, "those were some good fireworks" about a zillion times.
Jordyn was unbelievable. She stood with her blue eyes fixed straight ahead and her little finger pointing to the fireworks.  She kept saying "wow" and "Dow" which means light in Arabic, All the while dancing to the music in the background.
It really is incredible to be able to live these experiences for the first time again. I like them so much better this time around.
And honey, happy 6 year anniversary of the day you asked me to marry you! (only one of the greatest days of my life) And happy 5 year anniversary of the day we moved into our home.  I love you!

Family Date Night

Last night we took the kids to their very first drive-in movie.  It had it's share of bumps in the beginning, but all in all it was so much fun. Once Jordyn passed out, she and Patrick sat outside and snuggled while Connor and I sat inside with all the blankets and pillows and watched the movie.  At one point, Connor looked at me and said:
C: Hey Mom, we're on a date.
M: Yes honey, we are on a family date
C:This is too cool
M: It is my little man.  Very Cool!
Ah.  I just love him so very much

Hancock Rocks

Patrick and I had a double date with our friends Claudia and Josh this evening.  We went to see the new Will Smith movie Hancock and I just loved it!  I don't know if Will Smith has ever made a movie or song or TV show that I didn't like.  Aside from that I for sure give this movie two big thumbs up!  But be warned, this is not a kid friendly movie.  Will Smith says a few colorful words in the flick, but nothing my Grandma couldn't handle!
